Positivity rate at 5.66 percent, Ky. adds 1,493 COVID cases

The positivity rate in Kentucky continues to decline as the Commonwealth gained 1,493 cases of COVID-19 Tuesday.

According to the daily update, the positivity rate is now at 5.66 percent, down from 5.84 the day before—there were 25 newly reported deaths, bringing the death toll in the state since the pandemic began up to 9,665.

On the state incidence rate map, Christian and Trigg county are listed as ‘orange’, while Todd county is ‘yellow’.  Hospitalizations are also on the decline, with 893 people currently in the hospital with COVID, 266 in the ICU and 148 on a ventilator.
