Two members of Austin Peay’s team received Ohio Valley Conference weekly honors Sunday. Governors quarterback Draylen Ellis received Co-Offensive Player of the Week honors. The sophomore from Olive Branch, MS completed 21-of-36 passes for a career-high 350 yards and three touchdowns as Austin Peay topped Morehead State 59-35. He also rushed for 30 yards on seven carries.
Graduate linebacker Jack McDonald was selected as the OVC’s Co-Defensive Player of the Week. The Brentwood, TN native had three tackles, a quarterback hurry and returned an interception 32 yards for a touchdown in the Governors win over Morehead State. Austin Peay is back in action Saturday afternoon at Eastern Kentucky.
