CCSO accepting applications for citizen’s academy

The Christian County Sheriff’s Office is signing folks up for its 2021 Citizen’s Sheriff Academy.

The 12-hour program will be focused on educating the students on the day-to-day job of a Deputy Sheriff in Christian County, and having a little fun in the process. The classes will be held on Tuesdays from 6:00 pm-8:00 pm, beginning October 12th and running through November 16th.

Applicants will be educated on the duties of the sheriff’s office, including traffic stops, equipment, law enforcement tactics, simulated court sessions, investigative techniques, and more.

It will be limited to 24 participants and will be free to Christian County residents who are 18 or older.

Applications can be picked up at the sheriff’s office on Seventh Street or downloaded on the Christian County Sheriff’s Office website.
