A calm week of weather is expected across Western Kentucky after a relatively average summer.
Meteorologist Mike York hosted this week’s National Weather Service in Paducah conference call and said there are no major rain-makers in the forecast this week and temperatures should be about average through the first half of the weekend.
Next week could be a little warmer than normal and above average precipitation is in the long-term forecast.
Christian County received more rain in August than most of Western Kentucky, but the region as a whole ended the month near the average.
Christian County had the most severe thunderstorm warnings during the summer of anywhere in the region at 10, but 2021 remains well on pace for record lows in tornado and severe thunderstorm warnings as a region.
