A juvenile has been arrested in connection with the shooting incident Tuesday afternoon at the East Second Street Park. As previously reported, gunfire rang out and caused children to run in fear about 6 p.m. Tuesday and Hopkinsville police say an anonymous tipster led officers to the juvenile who allegedly discharged a handgun. Thirty-three new COVID cases in Trigg County, two deaths in Hopkins County

Trigg County had 33 new coronavirus cases from Friday until Monday. The Pennyrile District Health Department says the 22 adults and 11 minors are healing at home, except for a 78-year-old woman who’s in the hospital with the virus. Todd County reports another COVID death, 18 new cases

The Todd County Health Department reported 18 new cases of COVID-19 and the county’s 30th COVID death Monday. No information was given on the fatality and only two of the 18 new cases are vaccinated individuals. UK’s Stoops has season opening news conference today

Kentucky coach Mark Stoops spent more of his season opening news conference today talking about the legal matter involving six players including Bowling Green’s Devito Tisdale. When asked it any of the six would be back practicing anytime soon, Stoops said “We’ll see”. The six have not been in practice since their arrests recently in connection with the incident at a private party back in March.
