Updated: Juvenile arrested for gunfire at local park

A juvenile has been arrested in connection with the shooting incident Tuesday afternoon at the East Second Street Park.

As previously reported, gunfire rang out and caused children to run in fear about 6 p.m. Tuesday and Hopkinsville police say an anonymous tipster led officers to the juvenile who allegedly discharged a handgun.

No one was injured in the incident and HPD had already arrested 18-year-old D’Tavious Williams-Knight for allegedly tossing a gun into a wood line. It had been brandished by another juvenile in the confrontation and he gave it to Williams-Knight to dispose of it.
