Adrian Murray, who is accused of shooting Keosha Willis on Meridians Way in Oak Grove in 2018, was sentenced Wednesday morning in Christian Circuit Court on drug trafficking charges.
Murray accepted a plea deal that came with an eight-year sentence for trafficking in cocaine and marijuana while armed, in addition to fleeing or evading police and wanton endangerment for a vehicle pursuit.
Murray continued to give statements that conflicted with his pre-sentence investigation during sentencing and argued with Assistant Commonwealth’s Attorney Stephanie Bolen on several matters during his testimony.
Bolen argued that Murray isn’t a good candidate to be successful, if he were to be granted probation.
Judge John Atkins denied probation, ordering him to serve the eight-year sentence.
Murray is charged with first-degree assault for the alleged shooting of Willis and is awaiting trial.
