An arrest was made Sunday night following a shots fired incident on Gale Lane.
Hopkinsville police were called to a home in the 3000 block of Gale about 6:30 p.m. and made a traffic stop on 47-year old James Powell of Hopkinsville as he was leaving the scene.
Investigation determined Powell was in possession of a handgun and witnesses said he fired several shots at the ground.
Powell was arrested and charged with possession of a handgun by a convicted felon.
