Churchill Downs to re-open next month

Governor Andy Beshear gave approval Wednesday for Churchill Downs to open its backside to horses on May 11th. The track could begin racing as soon as May 14th without fans. The spring meet is scheduled to run through June 27. The Kentucky Derby, which was scheduled for Saturday, had already been postponed to September 5th.
