Western Kentucky Congressman James Comer says the small business relief package approved Thursday in Washington was necessary, but he does not support a package to help ailing state budgets.
Comer says allocating another $350 billion for COVID-19 relief isn’t pleasant, but it was had to be done to shore up small businesses that could face closure without help.
He doesn’t believe financial woes faced by state governments in Kentucky and other states are only the creation of COVID-19 and he won’t be supporting another stimulus for states.
The congressman says he could support some assistance for local governments who have lost occupational tax revenues.
