Leaders of continental Olympic groups are supporting the International Olympic Committee’s plan to hold the Tokyo Summer Games as scheduled despite the recent shutdown of sporting events due to the coronavirus pandemic, The move is in response to several athletes publicly criticizing the IOC’s decision to tentatively begin the Games in late July as planned.
