North Carolina State is celebrating a resounding upset of sixth-ranked Duke. The Wolfpack built a 23-point lead in the second half and cruised to an 88-66 win. The Wolfpack have won three of four to improve to 17-and-9 while the Blue Devils had their seven-game winning streak snapped to fall to 22-and-4.
Big changes could be coming to the NFL’s playoff format if a new collective bargaining agreement is approved. ESPN reports the proposal would increase the number of playoff teams in each conference to seven, with a 17-game regular season and a three-game preseason. League owners will meet today in Manhattan to talk further.
Just days after a horrific crash in the Daytona 500, NASCAR driver Ryan Newman is out of the hospital. The Roush Fenway racing team posted on social media a photo of Newman walking out of Halifax Medical Center in Daytona Beach yesterday. He was holding the hands of his two young daughters. There is no timetable for his return to racing.
