KHSAA talks changes in basketball schedules

The Kentucky High School Athletic Association Board of Control met today in Lexington. The Courier Journal reports one item discussed was changing the high school basketball schedule. The KHSAA would like to finish both state tournaments before the NCAA tournament begins, but in order to do that, the basketball season would have to start the Monday before Thanksgiving and would keep a 12 week regular season schedule.

However, there are conflicts with the current football playoff schedule. The item will be discussed more when the Board meets in May.
