The local Gateway Academy in Hopkinsville received a financial boost Thursday from a local organization with a vested interest in seeing those students become successful.
The International Brotherhood of Electricians Local 816 presented a check to Gateway Academy to Innovation and Technology for its Electrician Training Program.
Training director Jarrod Shadowen, business manager Jimmy Evans and organizer Chris Rennison were on hand for the presentation.
IBEW Local 816 is based in Paducah and officials say they support multiple electrician training programs across western Kentucky.
