Fire destroyed a dairy barn Sunday afternoon on Allegre Road in Todd County.
The call of fire at the barn near the Pond River Road intersection went out about 12:45 p.m., according to Emergency Management Director Daniel Smith, who says 40 to 50 cattle were in the barn at the time and only about 10 were able to escape.
Firefighters from Allegre, Sharon Grove, Elkton, Honey Grove, Allensville, Fairview and Clifty responded. Several were treated for heat-related issues, but no one required a trip to the hospital.
The cause of the fire was unknown.
