Kentucky State Police will remember a trooper killed on the job with a wreath laying ceremony on Friday.
Trooper Joseph Cameron Ponder had been on the job less than a year when he was shot to death by a Missouri man in southwestern Kentucky on September 13 of 2015.
The man was later killed by officers. I-24 in Lyon County between the Caldwell County line and KY Route 293 is now known as the Trooper Joseph Cameron Ponder Memorial Highway.
