Joey Votto tied the game for Cincinnati with a two-out single in the seventh inning and Eugenio Suarez followed with the go-ahead hit as the Reds avoided a three-game sweep edging Philadelphia 4-3 Sunday. The Reds move to Cleveland to begin an interleague series with the Indians tomorrow night.
Elsewhere in the National League: The Chicago Cubs downed the St. Louis Cardinals 5-1 last night at Wrigley Field. The Cardinals open a series tonight at the Miami Marlins while the Cubs begin a series at the Colorado Rockies.
Ronald Acuna Jr. hit a three-run homer as Atlanta overcame a 5-1, ninth-inning deficit and Matt Joyce delivered a tiebreaking RBI single in the 12th as Atlanta rallied to defeat Miami 7-6 Sunday. The Braves welcome the Pittsburgh Pirates this evening at Sun Trust Park.
