Bevin, Beshear win gubenatorial primaries

It will be Bevin versus Beshear in the November general election for Kentucky governor.

Governor Matt Bevin defeated Republican challenger Robert Goforth by about 13 percent and Andy Beshear defeated Rocky Adkins by about 6 percent and Adam Edlen by about 10 percent.

Bevin says Kentuckians will see a stark contrast between him and Beshear.

Meanwhile, Beshear says the election won’t be about who’s in the White House.

Bevin won Christian, Todd and Trigg counties. Beshear won Christian and Trigg County, while Adkins had the most votes in Todd.

Edelen was gracious in conceding and says he’ll campaign for Beshear.

Adkins says he’ll also support Beshear and that it’s time for Democrats to work together to oust Bevin.

Goforth thanked his supporters and says he’ll keep working hard to represent his constituents in the state House.
