Girls Sweet 16 quarterfinal action Friday at Rupp Arena saw 4th region winner Barren County fall to Male 63-49 while 3rd region winner Owensboro Catholic upset second ranked Scott County 62-51. Other action saw Ryle defeat George Rogers Clark 64-51 and Southwestern topped North Laurel 75-50.
Semifinal action this evening will have Owensboro Catholic meeting Ryle at 5:30 Hopkinsville time followed by Male and Southwestern. The winners will meet in the championship game tomorrow afternoon which you can hear beginning at 12:45 on News Radio 95.3 FM/1230 AM WHOP and whopam.com.
