700 Fort Campbell soldiers returning home from Afghanistan

Approximately 700 Fort Campbell soldiers will be returning home from a nine-month deployment to Afghanistan in the coming days. Welcome home ceremonies were set for Saturday morning and Monday afternoon for the 700 members of the 101st Combat Aviation Brigade. Fugitive of the Week arrested for probation violation

One of this week’s Crime Stoppers fugitives of the week has been arrested. Hopkinsville Police located 40-year old Alvin Ray Powell of Hopkinsville at 304 Moores Drive and served him with a warrant for probation violation. Crime Stoppers continues to seek 20-year old Jaleel Radford, who is sought for first-degree sexual abuse. Anyone knowing Radford’s whereabouts should call the anonymous tips line at 270-887-TIPS.

Western Kentucky held off UTSA in overtime with a 96-88 victory in Bowling Green. Lamonte Bearden and Charles Bassey each led the Hilltoppers with 22 points as WKU improved to 12-10 and 5-4 in Conference USA. Austin Peay snapped a six game losing streak to Tennessee Tech in Cookeville with a 77-66 win last night at the Eblen Center.
