Reds sign free agent utility player Dietrich

The Cincinnati Reds signed free agent utility player Derek Dietrich to a minor league contract. The 29-year-old left-handed hitter will report to big league camp and compete for a job. He hit .262 with 16 home runs and 26 doubles last year in 149 games with Miami. He has played mostly second, third and left field in five-plus years in the majors, all with the Marlins.
