Murray State guard Ja Morant was named the Ohio Valley Conference Player of the Week today. Morant averaged 25 points, 11 ½ assists and seven rebounds in wins over Morehead State and Eastern Kentucky. Morant had 34 points and 10 assists in Saturday night’s win over EKU.
Meanwhile, Racer KJ Williams was named Co-Ohio Valley Conference Freshman of the Week. Williams averaged 13 ½ points and 10 ½ rebounds in wins over Morehead State and Eastern Kentucky. Williams recorded a double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds in Saturday night’s win over EKU.
Murray State returns to OVC action beginning a four game road trip at UT Martin Thursday night.
