The field for the championship games of the Commonwealth Gridiron Bowl are set following semifinal play last night.
Class 2-A: Mayfield is back in the championship game again following a 38-7 rout of Walton Verona. The other semifinal saw Christian Academy-Louisville bury Somerset 35-12.
Class 4-A: Franklin Simpson is heading to the championship game for the third straight year after blanking Taylor County 33-0. The Wildcats will meet Johnson Central who defeated Knox Central 59-20.
Class 5-A: South Warren defeated South Oldham 31-10 and Covington Catholic topped Pulaski County 36-14.
Class 3-A: Central buried Larue County 48-8 and Corbin upset top ranked Boyle County 21-0.
Class A: Beechwood routed Campbellsville 48-13 and Pikeville defeated Raceland 38-19.
Class 6-A: Male edged Trinity 27-20 and Scott County topped Madison Central 40-6.
The championship games take place next weekend at Kroger Field in Lexington.
