Crowds gathered in downtown Guthrie Saturday to remember police chief Matthew Humble and to raise money for his family.
Humble died last month after a battle with liver cancer and friends organized the fundraiser event soon after his diagnosis.
A total for money raised wasn’t immediately available, but Mayor Scott Marshall said you could tell it was a big success by just looking at the crowd.
There were raffles, #humblestrong shirts for sale, food, live music and more and Marshall says Guthrie and the Humble family have received support from across the region.
Chief Humble was a Russellville Police officer before coming to Guthrie and his father is a chaplain with the Burden Bearers chaplain service in Logan County.
