Man arrested for having Visa card stolen out of vehicle

A Hopkinsville man was arrested Monday night for allegedly having property that was stolen out of a parked car.

Officers stopped 30-year old Jayuane Johnson just before 10 p.m. for riding a bicycle with no lights on it in the area of North Kentucky Avenue and West First Street.

Johnson gave consent to search his person and the report says officers found a Visa card belonging to a woman who reported it stolen out of her automobile on Canton Street.

There was also a receipt in Johnson’s pocket indicating he had used the card at a local pizza restaurant.

Johnson was arrested and charged with receiving stolen property and failure to comply with bicycle safety regulations.
