Kentucky State Police have released additional details on a shooting Sunday afternoon near Allensville that left a man dead inside his car.
A news release identifies the victim as 47-year old Jerry Robertson of Guthrie. As previously reported, gunshots were heard by residents on Stateline Road just north of KY 848 and first responders found Robertson inside the car with gunshot wounds.
Attempts to save his life were unsuccessful and he was pronounced dead at the scene by the Todd County coroner. A nearby resident said his wife saw a black or dark green vehicle leaving the area shortly after the shots rang out.
No other details on the incident are included in the email from state police.
KSP says anyone with information on the shooting should call them at 270-676-3313.
The Todd County Sheriff’s Department assisted in the investigation.
