Report shows decline for those playing HS Football in Kentucky

The Lexington Herald Leader, citing a report from the National Federation of High Schools, says high school football participation in Kentucky has dropped for the second straight year.

In the 2017-18 school year, 12,371 boys played football, down almost 10 percent from the previous year. The other major sports, boys and girls basketball, baseball and softball also saw small declines in players while participation in boys soccer increased, but decreased slightly in girls soccer.
