HPD urging drivers to avoid Millbrooke during heavy school traffic periods

Motorists who routinely use Millbrooke Drive as a cut-thru between Pyle Lane and Country Club Lane are seeing new signs urging them to not do so during school drop off and pick up hours.

One of the signs is located at Country Club and Millbrooke and the other is at Millbrooke and Pyle. The signs say for thru traffic to use Country Club or Pyle between the hours of 6:45 and 7:30 a.m. and between 2 and 2:40 p.m.

Hopkinsville Police Lt. Kyle Spurlin says it’s not a requirement for those cars to take a different route, but it would be helpful as cars spill out of the Millbrooke Elementary parking lot onto the roadway.

That area is a no-passing zone and motorists who have no interest at the school often become delayed by the school traffic.
