Former Hopkinsville High pitcher Easton McGee pitched the Hudson Valley Renegades to a 4-0 win in their season opener over the Aberdeen Ironbirds in New York-Penn League play last night. McGee pitched five innings, allowing three hits, walking one and striking out two to get the win.

Semifinal action at the KHSAA State Tournament in Lexington last night saw St. X blank Hazard 3-0 and 1st region winner McCracken County fell to Highlands 4-3. Highlands and St. X will play in the championship game this evening at 6 Hopkinsville time at Whitaker Bank Ballpark in Lexington.

It was reported by several outlets and confirmed in a statement from the Christian County Board of Education that Larry Miller is the new boys’ basketball coach at Hopkinsville High School. Miller had been named the interim coach after Tim Haworth left to become the new coach at Louisville Male. Miller has been an assistant in both the Tiger and Lady Tiger program over the past several years
