Guthrie Heritage Days coming up this weekend

Guthrie Heritage Days is this weekend and attendees Saturday can get a dose of local history.

MainStreet Director Tracy Robinson says it all gets underway Friday at 4 p.m. and three area historians will talk about the Black Patch Wars during a 4 p.m. event Saturday.

Guthrie Heritage Days has had programs on Robert Penn Warren and other historical people and events in the past and Robinson says it’s also not the first time to look back at Guthrie’s place in the Black Patch Wars and Night Rider saga.

There will be vendor booths in downtown Guthrie through both evenings of Heritage Days.

The festivities will conclude Saturday night with a fireworks display. All events are free to attend.
