MLB Roundup-Reds, Braves and Cardinals win

The Cincinnati Reds avoided a three-game sweep at the hands of the San Francisco Giants with a 6-3 win Wednesday. Adam Duvall hit a three-run homer in the first inning and Scooter Gennett added a solo shot in the seventh. Matt Harvey wasn’t part of the decision in his second start with the Reds, allowing three runs on seven hits in four innings.

The Reds are off today before welcoming the Chicago Cubs for a weekend series beginning tomorrow night with air time at 5:40 on News Radio 95.3 FM/1230 AM WHOP.

Elsewhere in the National League: Ronald Acuna Jr. singled in the go-ahead run to ignite a three-run eighth inning as the Atlanta Braves beat the Chicago Cubs 4-1 at SunTrust Park. The series concludes this evening.

Interleague: Dexter Fowler singled in two runs in the first inning and the St. Louis Cardinals never trailed in a 7-5 win over the Minnesota Twins. The Cardinals begin a weekend series tonight hosting the Philadelphia Phillies.
