A new Mexican restaurant is coming to Guthrie and it’s moving into a recently renovated downtown building.

The Ole Opera House was built in 1872 and Mayor Scott Marshall says it holds a great historic significance in downtown Guthrie.

The Jalapeno Grill, owned by the same people who operate El Comal in Clarksville, will open in the building this summer.

Todd Thomas, who is involved with Guthrie Main Street, renovated the building. Mayor Marshall and members of city council toured the building earlier this week and he says the facility looks great.

Mayor Marshall hopes construction of the new Novelis plant will attract additional entrepreneurs who may be interested in bringing more restaurants to Guthrie.
