Pembroke PD chief accepts Commonwealth’s detective position

Mark Reid
Pembroke Police Chief Mark Reid is leaving that job to accept the detective position at the Christian County Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office.

Retired Hopkinsville Police Chief Kenny Over has been the Commonwealth’s detective since 2007, but is moving with his wife to be closer to their daughter and grandchild, according to Commonwealth’s Attorney Lynn Pryor.

Pryor says Over has been a “tremendous asset” to the community over the past several decades, including his time with HPD, then the Christian County Sheriff’s Department and most recently with the Commonwealth.

Reid’s employment with the Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office becomes effective May 1st. He retired as a Major at the Hopkinsville Police Department and spent time with Kentucky State Police Commercial Vehicle Enforcement and Christian County Sheriff’s Department before taking the Pembroke chief position in September, 2016.

Pryor says Reid brings, “a great deal of experience and respect to the office of the Commonwealth’s Attorney,” and adds that they look forward to welcoming him to their team.
