Christian County wins opening game in Girls 2nd region tourney

Christian County dominated Livingston Central 83-45. The Lady Colonels had four players in double figures led by 18 points from Aaliyah Hampton, Kinara Phillips pitched in 15 and Laderia Gold and Trinitee Jackson each added 12 as Christian County improved to 22-7 on the season. The Lady Colonels will meet five time region champion Henderson County in the second semifinal game Friday night. Henderson County routed Caldwell County 74-39.

Girls 4th Region: South Warren topped Todd Central 63-25 and Glasgow edged Russell County 44-41. Girls 1st Region: Carlisle County eased by Paducah Tilghman 52-48 and Murray crushed Ballard Memorial 66-40. Girls 3rd Region: Edmonson County cruised by Apollo 52-41 and Muhlenberg County defeated Meade County 60-51.

Preds rally to defeat Jets

The Nashville Predators reeled off three goals in the final 10 minutes to clip the Winnipeg Jets 6-5. Craig Smith and Ryan Johansen tallied to tie the game before Ryan Hartman netted the game-winner with one-minute left in regulation. The Preds continue their Canadian road swing tomorrow night at the Edmonton Oilers.

Rashaud Watson The man accused in the shooting death of a man on Paradise Hill Road in Clarksville Tuesday night has turned himself in. Clarksville Police say 25-year old Rashad Watson, who was wanted on a warrant for criminal homicide, turned himself in and was being interviewed Wednesday afternoon.
