Police in Hopkins County are investigating an armed bank robbery Wednesday afternoon in Mortons Gap.
The Hopkins County Sheriff’s Department says a male entered the US Bank on South Main Street in Mortons Gap about 12:18 p.m. dressed in black shoes, black pants, and black hooded sweatshirt with his face covered and wearing a large pair of sunglasses.
Police say he brandished a weapon and demanded money. The suspect then fled the scene on foot and is believed to have left the area in a vehicle with an unknown amount of money.
