Details have been released on a wreck involving a moped and a minivan Saturday evening that sent a man to a Nashville hospital.
The report from Hopkinsville Police Officer Michael Felts says 54-year old Joyce Taylor of Hopkinsville was attempting to turn left from Country Club Lane to head south on Lafayette Road at about 7:15 p.m.
She said the sun was glaring in her eyes and she never saw a moped operated by 20-year old Jason Chilton of Hopkinsville headed the opposite direction on Country Club and they collided in the intersection.
Chilton’s moped came to rest under Taylor’s van and he was flown to Skyline Medical Center in Nashville with a broken leg and other serious injuries. He was not wearing a helmet, according to the report.
