It’s that time of the year where some people may be getting sick and the Christian County Health Department says to do yourself a favor and get the flu shot.
Marketing Specialist Amanda Bassingthwaite says the health department will give the shot with no appointment necessary and they do accept insurance.
She urges people to not underestimate the flu, because it can be deadly.
It is especially important for pregnant women to be vaccinated before or during pregnancy. It’s also highly recommended for children and adults over the age of 50 to receive a flu shot. The current flu activity level in the state is described as regional in the most recent update from the Kentucky Cabinet of Health and Family Services.
