Alcohol may have been a factor in a wreck on Newstead Road Saturday that sent a woman to Jennie Stuart Medical Center for her injuries.
According to the report from the Christian County Sheriff’s Department, a vehicle operated by Lisa Campbell of Lafayette was travelling westbound on Newstead Road near Brady Lane when it left the roadway for unknown reasons. The front of the vehicle struck a culvert at the intersection before travelling back into the road and continuing another 100 feet down the road.
The vehicle ran off the right side of the road again and travelled 75 feet in the ditch before coming to a stop. Campbell was discovered unconscious in the vehicle and was transported to Jennie Stuart for multiple injuries.
Alcohol is listed as a suspected factor and Campbell was wearing her seatbelt.
