On Tuesday afternoon, the Kentucky High School Baseball Coaches Association announced Christian County’s Elijah Underhill as Kentucky’s Mr. Baseball and a member of the All-State team.
This award comes after Underhill had already won player of the year awards in Christian County’s district and region.
In 114 at-bats this season, Underhill managed to get 49 hits and 8 homers with a .430 batting average.
As a pitcher, he had a 6-4 record and threw 115 strikeouts with a 2.65 ERA.
Underhill helped lead his team to a consecutive district championship and a runner-up finish in the region tournament.
Next up for Underhill is Eastern Kentucky University, as he will report there later this summer in preparation for his freshman season.
