Christian County Public Schools will stick with non-traditional instruction next week.
Three reasons were provided by the district for not returning to in-person instruction as planned—capacity limits at Jennie Stuart Medical Center, 82 staff members who have tested positive for COVID-19 or who are direct contacts, and the dramatic increase in the number of positive cases in the community.
Teachers will continue to report to their school buildings to facilitate online instruction. Sports practices may resume with modifications on Monday, however, games will not take place next week.
Each school is maintaining its regular meal schedule during NTI. Schools will distribute three-meal bundles daily from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
The district says in a news release that the situation will be reevaluated on Friday, January 15 and another update will be issued regarding in-person instruction.
