The Mayor’s Community Awards are set to recognize individuals and businesses who have made positive impacts on the Hopkinsville community, and nominations are open now.
According to the City of Hopkinsville Local Government, there are five categories for the awards, including volunteer, educator, City of Hopkinsville employee, nonprofit and small business. The nomination period is open now and the recipients of those awards will be honored at an event in September.
To be eligible, the nominee must be committed to improving the city through professional or volunteer service, and they do not have to be a resident of the city to be nominated.
The nomination deadline is August 14 and those nominating should consider how this person or business’ efforts have affected the city, describe their service to the community and include examples of their service in the nomination.
You can fill out a form on the City of Hopkinsville website or by contacting Diane Turner via email.
