A three-run third inning helped host Muhlenberg County defeat No. 23-ranked University Heights Academy 4-2 in a high school basebal game Saturday.
UHA got on the board first in the third inning when Hayden Hunt doubled to score Cadence Gibson. An error on a ground ball by Jackson Flynn scored Hunt.
However, the Mustangs scored three runs in the bottom of the third using two hits, a walk, and a hit batter. Muhlenberg added another run in the bottom of the fifth.
Both teams only had four hits with Gibson going 2-for-3 for the Blazers.
Josh Pace suffered the pitching loss, despite striking out five and allowing only three hits through four innings.
The Blazers fell to 13-7 and are scheduled to play Tuesday at Henderson County.
