Avery Adcock greeted Tecumseh, Indiana, pitching with a solo home run in the bottom of the first inning. But the Lady Braves go the last laugh as they held Christian County hitless the rest of the way and defeated the Colonels 6-1 Friday in a high school softball game in Owensboro.
Adock’s blast tied the game 1-1, but Tecumseh scored two in the second inning, one in the third and two in the fourth to pull away for the five-inning win.
The Lady Colonels (13-11) struck out nine times in the game and never threatened to score after the first inning.
Jordan Turrner suffered the pitching loss for Christian County.
