Heritage Christian Academy had its bats out on Monday afternoon and routed visiting Dawson Springs 21-6 in a high school softball game.
Presley Brewer had three hits, including an inside-the-park home run to pace the Lady Warriors (2-2).
HCA, which had 16 hits on the day, was leading 5-3 in the bottom of the second inning but blew the game open with an 11-run frame. Layton Weeks had a three-run triple. Kailyn Johnson, Madison Warren and Ava DeJager each had doubles in the inning.
The Lady Warriors ended the game with a five-run fourth inning. The big hit was Brewer’s inside-the-park homer, which plated three runs.
Weeks earned the pitching win for the Lady Warriors. She struck out seven batters over six innings of work.
HCA is scheduled to play at University Heights Academy in a District 8 game on Thursday afternoon.
