Single-vehicle wreck on the Pennyrile Parkway results in injuries

A single-vehicle wreck on the Pennyrile Parkway resulted in the driver being transported to a Nashville Hospital for injury treatment on Friday.

According to a report from the Christian County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to a vehicle roll-over accident near the 17-mile marker of the parkway and made contact with the driver, Gwyneth Almquist of Clarksville.

Almquist told first-responders that she was driving north on the parkway when she reportedly lost control of her car as a result of wet road conditions. Almquist’s car swerved in the median and flipped multiple times before coming to a rest on the shoulder of the southbound lanes.

Almquist suffered multiple injuries and was transported to Jennie Stuart Medical Center before she was flown to Skyline Medical Center in Nashville.
