Hopkinsville High School’s Lauren Mayes turned in another good performance Saturday at the Muhlenberg County Mustang Stampede cross-country meet in Greenville.
Mayes led the Lady Tigers to a fifth-place finish in the team standings with 147 points. She crossed the finish line in 12th-place overall in a time of 21:46.76.
Alexis Herrera Loveto was 29th in a time of 23:13.64 and Rebecca Wood took 46th in 24:19.01.
Others running for the Lady Tigers included Evelyn Bangart (49th, 24:45.57), Kaydon Coats (73rd, 27:17.82), and Luanna Acree (96th, 29:58.82).
Daviess County won the girls’ meet with 42 points and Owensboro Catholic took second with 45.
Ohio County’s Morgan Kobylinski won the individual race in a time of 18:57.70. Owensboro Catholic’s Peyton Red was second in 20:20.79.
In the boys’ high school race, Tyson Cavinder continued his good start to the season by finishing 12th overall with a time of 18:10.60 to lead the Tigers. Savior Davis finished 39th in 19:33.54 and Fernando Ginez-Rojas was 194th in 28:01.69.
Daviess County won the team championship with 57 points and Apollo was second with 77.
Apollo’s Emmitt Brock was first individually in 16:18.29.
