ShowBox movie theater in Hopkinsville could open in early October

The ShowBox in Hopkinsville is gearing up to finally open their doors, after long months of renovations and planning.

In a video on social media, new owner Shane Pollock says they’re excited to finally wrap up their redo of the local theater found off of Fort Campbell Boulevard, and with the projectors coming in soon, they’ll have a grand opening officially on October 6.

Formally known as WK Cinemas, the ShowBox was purchased by Shane and Aubrie Pollock in October of 2022 and began undergoing extensive renovations in January. Those renovations included luxury recliner seating, privacy pods in the dinner theater, themes designed by Bob Lancaster Designs, and each theater will have its own look, theme, and name.

Pollock has said in the past that it will have a dinner theater with pizza and other food options, with hope of potentially hosting video game competitions and movie marathons, along with traditional movie showings.

More information on ticket prices will be released in the coming weeks, with some policies concerning “R” rated films, policies concerning movie-goers under the age of 16 and what types of bags can be brought into the theater already up on the ShowBox Hopkinsville Facebook page.
