After what feels like a quick summer, Christian County Public Schools students are set to return to the classroom on Wednesday morning, and Superintendent Chris Bentzel has highlighted some of their goals for the year.
Speaking on WHOP’s Early Bird Show Monday, Bentzel asks people to have patience while commuting Wednesday, as school buses will be back on the roads and kids will be near the streets heading to school. He says they’ll be focused on enhanced safety and security this year, with new zero-tolerance policies on vaping and an increase of school resource officers.
He says they want to increase parent participation back to how it was before the pandemic, getting them more involved in their children’s education.
Concerning the consolidation of the high schools, Bentzel gave a timeline on what comes next in that process, starting with a meeting on August 15 seeking board approval on bids that have come in.
Bentzel urged people to make sure they know what the start and end times for the school day are for their child’s school, and go over the drop-off and bus plans for your student so they know exactly what to do on their first day back to school.
