Efforts are underway in Todd County to help students by ready to start the school year strong with supplies and clothing.
Todd County School District Community Education Director Katrena Smith says the Todd County Family Resource and Youth Service Centers are looking for sponsors to adopt a child to make sure they have the clothes they need to return to school in August.
Along with sponsors, people can donate clothing, which needs to be turned into the schools between July 26 and August 1.
Instead of filling the standard school bus full of supplies this year, Smith says she’ll be doing several smaller fills in the coming weeks, and she’ll be at different locations accepting donations.
The supplies they need most haven’t changed much—pencils, paper, notebooks and backpacks.
Donations, items or monetary, can be dropped off at the Todd County Board of Education at 205 Airport Road in Elkton. For more information, call 270-265-2436.
