Soon the sounds of music and the smells of barbeque will fill the air at Founders Square in Hopkinsville, as the fifth annual Squealin’ on the Square takes over downtown on June 9.
The annual competition is back with three categories—ribs, chicken and chops and Parks and Recreation Superintendent Toby Hudson says the deadline to register a team is June 2 and you can do so online at hoptownrec.com for a chance to win the grand prize.
Hudson says it’s an all-day affair, with cooking starting early that morning on June 9, before opening to the public that evening as the event moves into Sounds at Six with live music.
The music will be the Extraordinary Gentlemen, returned from performing on tour and ready to take the stage for Sounds at Six. Parks and Recreation has numerous events planned for the summer, including more Movies in the Park and the Summer Salute Festival.
